Lukashenko’s words need to have most modest meaning: First Human Rights Defender

December 17,2018 19:29

Regarding Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko’s statement during a press conference about how Serzh Sargsyan refused to give up territories, first Human Rights Defender of Armenia Larisa Alaverdyan told reporters that she has the impression that the Belarusian President feels like he is at the highest point in the wave and he wants to show that he has an important role in different platforms. “I believe that, after Trump, all the rest of them want to show Trump that all the rules of the game in international relations are a thing of the past.”

Larisa Alaverdyan considers Alexander Lukashenko’s statement to mean nothing. She said that Serzh Sargsyan and Alexander Lukashenko met, worked together, and had positive relations as colleagues. “Belarus wants to show that the former Armenian authorities carried themselves well in the CSTO. But Lukashenko’s words need to have the most modest meaning. If that was correct, then we should have spoken about the Belarusian President getting too involved in our internal affairs.”
