Acting Minister of Justice Artak Zeynalyan assured that he did not give instructions to any judge as a result of this government’s activities. He summarized his activities during a press conference when he was asked whether or not he was successful in establishing a free court system and what he thought of Kocharyan’s lawyers’ claims that the acting Prime Minister gives orders to judges, such as he did during a conversation with the NSS director.
Zeynalyan said that he does not wish to turn those conversations into a topic of discussion. “That took place for a specific purpose. This is blackmail, this is extortion, this is terrorism. And if we turn these conversations into a topic of discussion, we are violating people’s rights and turning ourselves into their tools.”
The acting minister said that the court system has improved and become freer. He said that the proof of this is that state bodies are losing in court decisions.
