“Publicizing the contents of closed discussions is a violation of political etiquette. At the same time, Lukashenko’s statement is one-sided. He only has publicized what he said. I believe that there will be talks about this problem during the next meeting,” political scientist Narek Minasyan told Aravot regarding the fact that the conversation between Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and Acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan was publicized.
Regarding Lukashenko’s announcement that he made a suggestion for Serzh Sargsyan to give five regions to Artsakh, which Sargsyan declined to do, Narek Minasyan expressed that he believes the Belarusian President tried to use pressure to solve several problems. “Belarus seeks to show that it tried to have a constructive approach to the Artsakh conflict and bring forth several solutions. Belarus could not have been successful with such an announcement, however, even if Putin supported it. This suggestion was not a compromise, but a one-sided concession. The Armenian side leads by the fundamental that there can be no one-sided concessions.”
