‘What is business for some is a death sentence for us’: Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson

December 21,2018 13:35

“The arms race in the region is always at the center of our attention. The arms race leads to the growth in instability. We have raised this issue among our colleagues on different levels,” Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Anna Naghdalyan told reporters regarding Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko’s statement that Nikol Pashinyan does not criticize the Russian President.

Naghdalyan expressed that the arms race in the region needs to stop. “What is business for some is a death sentence for our people.”

According to Anna Naghdalyan, having this position does not mean that Armenia is incapable or that it has a lack of determination. “This is not the case. The Armenian Armed Forces have a high level of preparedness and the proper military equipment to protect the security of Armenia and Artsakh. We recognize the consequences of rising tensions in the region. Therefore, ensuring the physical security of the people of Artsakh is always on our agenda.”
