December 21,2018 15:38

“Azerbaijan has given different characterizations of the upcoming year, saying that a favorable environment will be created. But we have spoken about that frequently. We said that agreements which strengthen trust must be made and we must reject hateful propaganda,” Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Anna Naghdalyan told reporters regarding Azeri President Ilham Aliyev’s announcement that 2019 will be a new opportunity for the resolution of the Artsakh conflict.

“It’s good that this is the first time that such an announcement has been made by Azerbaijan,” Anna Naghdalyan noted.

She also said that Armenia’s position on the resolution of the conflict entirely fits with that of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs’.

“Artsakh’s security and stability is of utmost importance to us. Artsakh needs to have a critical voice as one of the sides in the conflict. Our fundamentals and approaches are clear. The Armenian and Azeri ministers of foreign affairs have agreed to uphold the dynamics of upcoming meetings,” Anna Naghdalyan concluded.
