“Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance is a part of the Armenian-Russian agenda. Bilateral discussions have been held in connection to this. The laboratories belong to Armenia and will continue to belong to Armenia. Only Armenian experts work in the laboratories and they will continue to have a civilian nature,” Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Anna Naghdalyan told reporters.
The Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergey Lavrov, announced that Armenia and Russia are preparing documents that will exclude the possibility of foreign soldiers being present in Armenian biological laboratories.
Regarding this, Anna Naghdalyan said, “There is no issue with having a military presence in these biological laboratories in Armenia, and Armenia is not negotiating to deploy foreign countries’ soldiers to these laboratories.”
Regarding Lavrov’s observation that they have worries about the possibility of American soldiers being present in these laboratories, Anna Naghdalyan emphasized, “There can be no discussions about military presence.”
