Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told reporters in Vanadzor that he was also surprised by the release of Manvel Grigoryan. “I do not like to comment on decisions made by the courts, but I want for Armenian citizens to note that when I say that I do not get involved in court decisions, I am not exaggerating. I understand that people are upset, and to be honest, I don’t know what the court based its decision off of. When that decision becomes available, I will look into it. That decision was a surprise for me.”
When asked how he regards the fact that the residents of Ejmiatsin are carrying out protests against Manvel Grigoryan, Pashinyan said, “Carrying out protests is the right of citizens. What else am I supposed to say?”
