“There was a tense and artificial environment in Artsakh since the wave of changes in Armenia had not reached there. Better late than never. Changes in Artsakh are necessary,” commander of the Shushi special military battalion and co-founder of the Sasna Tsrer party Jirair Sefilian told reporters regarding the changes in officials in Artsakh.
Regarding former commander of the Defense Army, Levon Mnatsakanyan, Sefilian said, “Perhaps we have internal information about the reasons for his removal, but it would be right if the reasons were publicized. The people need to know why he was removed. He is not just any person.”
Jirair Sefilian added. “I would have liked for the reason for his removal to have been a result of flaws in the military instead of what we are hearing. Our request of Pashinyan is to finish what he started, since that is what the people are waiting for. We do not have any personal problems with Bako Sahakyan, but the people’s demand is for there to be fundamental changes in Artsakh.”
