Head of the Yerkir Tsirani political party Zaruhi Postanjyan is convinced that there is a necessity for rebellion even now in Armenia, since, according to her, the political system has not changed. “It continues to remain tyrannical. We do not have free courts. There is no political system free of monopolies,” Zaruhi Postanjyan told reporters.
When asked what examples she can give of courts’ impartiality and interference by the government, Zaruhi Postanjyan noted, “Everyone knows about that. If the current government accepts that they have carried out such activities, then we continue to live in a dictatorship.”
When asked if she doesn’t think she has the behavior of someone who is angry because they remained out of politics, Zaruhi Postanjyan said, “I don’t think so. What I said is the truth: nothing has changed in our country. The representatives of our government are repeating the mistakes of their predecessors. No evaluations were given of the former government. If you continue to make use of the former constitution, then you are continuing the work of the former authorities.”
Postanjyan also expressed the belief that there are political prisoners in Armenia, such as Pavlik Manukyan, who was accused of taking over the police regiment in 2016.
