Governor of Shirak Karen Sarukhanyan told reporters that the Shirak region has begun discussions with huge investors.
At the moment, there are two huge investments plans in the works. One is in the Ashotsk village, and the other is near the Shirak airport. According to the governor, many were waiting for the end of the snap parliamentary elections to begin discussing investments, and the final victory of the Velvet Revolution.
“There are talks of a 25 million dollar investment in Ashotsk. I have also held discussions regarding production of airplanes at a 30 hectare territory near the airport. The investor is a foreigner. Where there’s flow, there’s movement, and people want to make investments in our county and in the Shirak airport. It’s a fact that people want to increase jobs here,” the governor said.
Regarding the investment that will take place in Ashotsk, Karen Sarukhanyan explained that they will be trying out solar energy. The investors were offered a piece of land near an electricity unit. The investors have to come and scope out everything to see if the position of this territory is right to start producing energy.
