Gegham Manukyan on generational changes in Armenian Revolutionary Federation

December 27,2018 13:39

News is spreading across the media that, after taking into consideration the number of votes that the Armenian Revolutionary Federation received during the parliamentary elections, discussions are being held regarding changes in leadership.

ARF member Gegham Manukyan told Aravot regarding this news, “As someone who works in the media, sometimes I am surprised by my colleagues. Where do they get this information?”

When asked if he feels that it is necessary to make changes in the ARF elite, especially generational changes, Manukyan said, “What will generational changes do? Now people are wondering how 26-year-olds will lead the Armenian government, political parties, schools, and daycares. Is everything supposed to be like that?”

Responding to Aravot’s observation that perhaps it is necessary to put 26-year-olds in charge after seeing ineffective results from older generations, Gegham Manukyan said, “That is your subjective evaluation. There is something very important here: the party’s committee decides everything. No one individual makes decisions for the party, unlike in many other political parties and movements.”
