A1+ television broadcast ceased for the second time

December 30,2018 17:22

Changes await the “ArmNews” television channel in 2019. Workers at the television channel have already been informed by their supervisors that the owner has changed, and there will be changes in professionals and functions in January. According to some sources, second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan bought ArmNews, but ArmNews did not confirm this information.

According to sources provided to Aravot, ArmNews and Ayb-Fe will not be broadcast on television starting in January. These two television channels have had an agreement since 2012 according to which Ayb-Fe would be broadcasted in response to A1+ production and ArmNews broadcasts. The agreement has already been dissolved. The President of A1+, Mesrop Movsesyan, confirmed this information. He said that he was informed by telephone that the owner of ArmNews will change and that there will be changes in its format. “Our agreement has ceased. I am not a part of their games or their formats… if it is true that Robert Kocharyan is the one who purchased it, perhaps I am happy for him since he’ll have something to watch while in jail- his own channel.”

Since the beginning of the year, the media has been publishing about ArmNews’ financial crisis. According to the Armenian Times newspaper, the owner of ArmNews was selling shares, and businessman Khachatur Sukiasyan and the Russian “RBK” media holding owners were interested in them.
