“All changes being made are aimed towards creating positive movements in the Artsakh army,” Armenian Armed Forces Chief of Staff Artak Davtyan told reporters regarding the recent changes in officials made in Artsakh. “Our collaboration continues in the same way it always has.”
Davtyan did not comment on the fact that Levon Mnatsakanyan was removed from his position as commander of the Artsakh army.
The Chief of Staff did note, however, the increase in activity among newly conscripted soldiers in the Ministry of Defense’s “I Have Honor” and “I Am” programs. “It is still too early to give exact numbers, but at the moment, the numbers are the same as they were during the last conscription. 72 soldiers applied for the “I Am” program, and more than 90 soldiers applied for the “I Have Honor” program. There are also applications being discussed by the committee,” Artak Davtyan said.
