Yerevan mayor Hayk Marutyan promised to use public transportation to travel throughout the city. When asked when he plans to carry out his promise, Spokesperson for the Yerevan mayor Hakob Karapetyan replied, “The mayor does not only prepare, but he also travels around the city using public transportation.”
The spokesperson said that Hayk Marutyan typically travels using a service vehicle, especially for official or emergency meetings. However, since he does not live far away from the municipality building, he sometimes walks to work. The spokesperson added, “And sometimes, Hayk Marutyan travels using public transportation.”
Aravot asked Hakob Karapetyan to remember specific cases of when the mayor traveled somewhere using public transport. He said, “It’s difficult for me to mention specific cases, but when such instances occur, we inform everyone.”
According to several sources, Hayk Marutyan traveled to and from Baghramyan 26 for New Year’s meetings using public transportation.
