The Anonymous hacking group has recently posted documents from the archives of a British initiative, according to which several Armenian experts have been labeled “Russian propagandists” and “representatives of Russian interests.” One of these experts was Georgian studies expert Jhonny Melikyan. He spoke about the files in an interview with Aravot. “I don’t want to comment on an anonymous, unfounded document that has unknown origins, and that has unknown reasons and intentions for including those people on the list.”
According to the expert, “The problem is that this is absurd. I don’t know of any other way to describe this. It’s bad when they label experts who have been working for many years in their fields and who are considered to be scholars. It’s important that people know what we do for a living through supporting our country in its foreign policy agenda and through sometimes giving the state advice.”
Chair of the Political Science and International Affairs program at the American University of Armenia, Dr. Vahram Ter-Matevosyan, also spoke about these published files.
