First deputy mandate issued by 103-year-old woman, the oldest voter in Armenia

The newly-elected parliament deputies received their mandates on January 10th during a special ceremony. The first mandate was issued by the oldest person who voted in Armenia on December 9th, a 103-year-old woman named Bavakan Piloyan, who is a resident of Sarahart. She issued a mandate to Bright Armenia deputy Gurgen Baghdasaryan.

“Through handing over mandates in this manner, we seek to emphasize one more time the right to vote provided by the Armenian constitution,” the head of the Central Electoral Commission of Armenia, Tigran Mukuchyan, emphasized.

The youngest of voters who turned 18 years old on December 9th also issued mandates.

The My Step alliance has 88 deputies in the new parliament, Prosperous Armenia has 26, and Bright Armenia has 18 deputies.
