The protests against the release of Manvel Grigoryan along the Yerevan-Ejmiatsin highway are currently very tense.
The protesters closed the roads, and the police tried to re-open the roads in response. A police officer chose to speak to the protesters, who were demanding the punishment of Robert Kocharyan and Manvel Grigoryan.
“We support you in everything through keeping with societal norms and directing traffic. You held a procession yesterday, which we guarded, you’re doing a car procession today, which we are guarding, and we are ready to continue protecting you. But closing the roads and causing trouble for citizens is unacceptable, since everyone has things they need to do,” the police officer said.
Then, the police once again called upon protesters to not close off the streets, but the protesters did not listen. Instead, they linked arms and sat on the ground.
