Head of the Yerkir Tsirani political party Zaruhi Postanjyan told reporters about the 7th National Assembly, “Let’s wait no more than one or two months, and evaluations will come straight from society. And these will be fair evaluations. If I were to give my evaluation now, then it would be the same as it has been over the past nine months. Nothing has changed in our country. We can simply say that there was movement. The Republican Party was replaced by Civil Contract. That is the essence of this entire replacement. I think that society needs to decide how the government and parliament are. I am not convinced that our state is legitimate.”
Regarding the fact that the Speaker of the National Assembly received 131 votes, with none abstaining or against, Zaruhi Postanjyan said, “That is dangerous and it shows that there is no diversity in opinions in Armenia. Parliament in particular needs to be a place for multiple opinions.”
Regarding the observation that Bright Armenia considers itself to be the only opposition, Postanjyan said, “If you take part in a process from the beginning and it becomes obvious where certain people need to be in accordance with a particular scheme, you’re not part of the opposition. Creating a parliament in Armenia with multiple opinions is no longer possible, which was proven by this system. If you’re wearing the same coat as the dictator, it shows. And all those political forces are wearing the dictator’s coat in today’s parliament. Those political forces showed with their first vote that there is no opposition.”
