Rumors that the acting Minister of Health, Arsen Torosyan, has requested that the Aghajanov family stop collecting doctors’ signatures for their position, do not correspond to reality. Iosif Aghajanov’s sister, Yelena Aghajanova, spoke to reporters about this during protests against Mher Yenokyan possibly being granted amnesty for the 1996 murder. “Arsen Torosyan came to our house. He came to see his professor, my father, Mikhayil Aghajanov, and to support us in these difficult times. He told us that he stands with us,” Yelena Aghajanova said.
She also said that thousands of signatures from representatives of the academic community have been gathered demanding that Mher Yenokyan not be granted amnesty for the murder of Iosif Aghajanov. Approximately three thousand signatures have been gathered online.
“Arsen Torosyan did not discuss the protests or politics. I am thankful that he visited us. He did not do anything else,” Yelena Aghajanova added regarding Arsen Torosyan’s visit.
