Head of the Bright Armenia faction Edmon Marukyan reminded candidate for the head of the Committee on Regional and European Integration, Mikayel Melkumyan, about the issue of Armenian drivers working in Russia who have Armenian driver’s licenses.
“Today, I saw in a live video how one of our citizens was warning about how driving using an Armenian driver’s license was banned. We spoke about this issue when we went to Russia, but it was not resolved. It seems that it was made illegal. Thousands of people’s rights are being trampled upon. This is absurd within the EAEU.”
He said that when Nikol Pashinyan goes to Russia for his official visit, Marukyan sometimes reminds Pashinyan about the driver’s license issue. Pashinyan raises the issue, but no resolution is reached.
Melkumyan responded that he agrees with their stance on the issue, and that methods need to be discussed to resolve this.
