62 Syrian-Armenians visited Armenia last year

The Ministry of Diaspora carried out the “Integration Process for Syrian-Armenians and Iraqi-Armenians Living in the Republic of Armenia” program.

As of November 16th, 2018, 62 Syrian-Armenians visited Armenia. Throughout 2018, until November 16th, 930 Syrian-Armenians that moved from Syria to Armenia applied to the Ministry of Diaspora with 951 problems, 639 of which dealt with medical treatment, 124 of which dealt with help to pay living expenses, 38 had to do with education, 51 dealt with legal and documentation issues, and 47 dealt with other problems. In order to resolve such issues, letters were sent to state bodies and international, charity, and social organizations.

According to the ministry’s press service, this program will continue throughout 2019. Speaking about new programs will only be possible after the structural changes in government are complete.
