The 16-person group from the Gyumri Drama Theater named after Vardan Achemyan will be visiting Glendale, California to participate in plays. The play “Wedding in the Mountains,” which is about the four-day April War, will be performed at the Lanterman Auditorium. The tickets for the January 27th show are already sold out.
The manager of the theater, Nvard Ghazaryan, informed Aravot about this. She said that the play has an organizer. The head of the Global Arts company, Karpis Titizyan, organized all of the details. The Ministry of Culture paid for the plane tickets.
“We will be in the USA for 20 days. The first showing will be on January 27th, and the tickets are already sold out. The tickets for the second showing on February 3rd are already selling. We do not know when the next showings will be yet. There have been many responses, and our compatriots in the USA have been getting into contact with us, telling us how excited they are. Tickets have been selling very quickly, even better than we expected. The props have already been prepared, we sent our plans last year, and our friends from Gyumri in the US created all the props. We also sent in all our prerequisites, which were also prepared. We’re going to get on stage with everything already having been completed,” Nvard Ghazaryan said.
She said that the company has also been invited to perform in other countries, Germany and Australia in particular.
