During the Grand Prix judo competition in Tel-Aviv, the leading competitor on the Armenian team, 73 kg Ferdinand Karapetyan, who had injured his jaw in the first competition, lost to Tajik Behrouzi Khojazada in the third round. Khojazada did not make it to the finals, and Karapetyan was deprived of the right to participate in a tiebreaker.
