Minister of Foreign Affairs’ response to Aliyev: ‘I do not need to remind you of how determined we are’

January 29,2019 20:32

“It pains me to have to make such a statement. Our position is clear and well-known. It is clear what approaches we have, do I need to remind you? The people of Artsakh will decide their status,” Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan said in response to Azeri President Ilham Aliyev’s statement, that “Our position is strong in the negotiations process. Azerbaijan will not get used to the occupation of its territories, and we have shown that on the battlefield.”

Mnatsakanyan noted, “I do not need to remind you of how determined we are, and how we can defend ourselves and Artsakh. We know our abilities, but we wish to resolve the problem peacefully.”

According to Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, Aliyev’s statements and inherited policies are not welcomed. “We can respond to you, and use rhetoric, but determination does not grow from rhetoric. We have a satisfactory force to defend ourselves and to create damage. But that has consequences.”
