“Russia has a positive view on the agreement signed between Georgia and Switzerland in 2011. We seek to carry out our responsibilities,” Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Grigory Karasin told reporters. He was referring to the construction of another road besides Verin Lars.
The Russian diplomat considers the trilateral meeting, which will include Switzerland, that will be held in February to be important. “The meeting will be held in Geneva, and we will carry out our plans afterwards. This will help us and give us the opportunity to create a transit road, which will allow Armenian products to be exported and imported. We know that there are problems and conflicts in the region, especially in connection to the political situation, and there is also South Ossetia. These are sensitive issues that need to be discussed.”
Regarding the price of gas, Grigory Karasin said, “I am not a fortune teller. The issue is being discussed.”
