Yuri Khachaturov demands 2 million AMD and a public denial from Stepan Grigoryan

Former Secretary General of the CSTO Yuri Khachaturov is demanding 2 million AMD in compensation from political analyst Stepan Grigoryan for moral damages, as well as payment for the court trial and a public denial. Yuri Khachaturov’s representative Grigor Bekmezyan spoke about this in an interview with Aravot.

The “Yuri Khachaturov against Stepan Grigoryan” case was opened at the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction, under the authority of Judge Tatevik Stepanyan.

Yuri Khachaturov’s lawyer presented his case. He presented the court with an interview Grigoryan had with A1+ on July 30th, 2018, as well as the preferred way for the denial to be written in.

Yuri Khachaturov believes that Stepan Grigoryan’s statements, which are being more and more widespread daily, have a negative affect on the general’s honor and dignity.

The next session will take place on February 18th at 4:00 PM.

Former CSTO Secretary General Yuri Khachaturov is accused under Article 300.1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. He was charged for overthrowing the constitutional order during the events of March 1st, 2008.  Khachaturov was released on bail. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia had applied to the CSTO with a request to start the process of replacing Yuri Khachaturov. He was removed from his position.
