“It is impossible for there to be information and for society to not be aware of that. I did not discuss the Artsakh issue with Bolton during our phone conversation. The name Artsakh was not mentioned, nor was the name Azerbaijan mentioned. I said that my meeting with Aliyev did not include negotiations and it was not a formal meeting. We simply exchanged ideas,” Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told reporters. When asked what type of agenda Bolton has with our Prime Minister if it’s not the most important one- the resolution of the Artsakh conflict- Pashinyan said that it isn’t important for him to present the details of their conversation. He made his post and Bolton posted on Twitter.

When asked if the co-chairs have initiated for there to be a final resolution to the Artsakh conflict, the Prime Minister said that this is on the agenda of things for the Foreign Affairs Ministers to discuss.

Reporters asked about how the “land in exchange for territory” hypothesis is circulating again, and what opinions he has about that. Pashinyan said, “We cannot even discuss the format of giving up lands for peace.”

When asked about how Levon Ter-Petrossian’s hypothesis is supported within this government, Pashinyan did not agree. “Our government has policies that no government has had in the past regarding Artsakh, and trying to find any comparisons or correlations between the policies of this government and previous ones is delusional.”
