The government plan has still not yet been presented to parliament. Secretary of the My Step faction Hakob Simidyan spoke to Aravot about this. Simidyan was unable to give a clear time frame as to when the plan would be presented. Using the Constitution and the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly as his reference, Simidyan said, “We have until February 9th.” He believes that the government will make use of its right and that it will “hold discussions until the end.”
According to the Constitution of Armenia, within 5 days of being appointed, the Prime Minister presents the President with their nominees for Deputy Prime Ministers and Ministers. The government was essentially formed on January 19th. According to the legislation, if ⅔ of the government has been formed, it is considered to officially be in order. And then, the government needs to present its plan to parliament within 20 days. What is to be done about the remaining ⅓ of the ministers will become clear after the government receives its final face. According to these discussions, several ministries will be dissolved or they will unite with other ministries. Discussions still continue, and no final documents have been prepared yet.
On February 2nd, after the ruling party’s closed meeting, deputy Hovik Aghazaryan told reporters that the government’s plan will be presented to parliament on Monday, February 4th.
