After the recent government session, Minister of Education and Science Arayik Harutyunyan spoke about the government’s plan regarding his sphere. The government’s plan was not accepted. There were provisions that needed to be rectified.
Regarding the education and science portion of the provision, the minister said that the plan is based off of My Step’s plan. “The main plan is to change the content of schools. We have put a huge emphasis on the development of preschool education. Bringing back sciences to the university system can greatly change the situation. We have spoken about involved education and its effectiveness.”
Regarding the seismic resistance of schools, Harutyunyan said that that problem is under the authority of another ministry. “There are over 400 schools that have such problems. We are carrying out a credit plan. The Ministry of Education and Science will renovate several high schools in the next 2 years, and the seismic resistance problems will be resolved in those schools.”
