During the first meeting of Yerevan city commission for people with disabilities, the program of activities for 2019 was presented. The First Deputy Mayor of Yerevan, the chairman of the commission Hrachya Sargsyan mentioned that the programs must be essential and feasible.
The annual program involves various spheres of urban economy: equal and available conditions are to be provided, educational programs are to be implemented, as well as social projects to be carried out in teamwork with NGOs engaged in the problems of disabled people. This year it is planned to construct 175 wheelchair ramps. In this regard it was offered to carry out joint activities with the representatives of beneficiary organizations so as the ramps will be constructed in accordance with standards. Traffic lights with sound signals will be installed in some crossings. Special devices announcing the bus stops will be installed in urban buses for people with visual impairment.
