Two athletes from Armenia will be participating in the World Youth Weightlifting Championships in Las Vegas from March 8-15. The championships are for athletes under age 17. The head coach of the youth team, Gevorg Davtyan, along with the athletic council, decided that 81 kg Gevorg Ghahramanyan and 89 kg Garik Karapetyan will be participating as a result of the Armenian championships. According to the coach, both athletes have a chance at winning medals.
The youth team recently finished its training session at the Olympavan Sports Complex. After a few days of rest, the young athletes will once again gather there, and the chosen athletes will leave for Las Vegas on March 9th.
