“This is humanitarian support on behalf of a friendly nation for the Syrian people. Armenia dared to help the Syrian people through everyone’s professional means. Let’s not forget that Aleppo has an Armenian community, and the humanitarian group’s efforts will benefit the community as well,” Editor in Chief of the Gandzasar newspaper in Aleppo, Syria Zarmik Boghikian told Aravot in an interview regarding the arrival of the 83-person humanitarian group from Armenia.
According to her, Aleppo Armenians had a positive view of the arrival of the humanitarian group. “It has a humanitarian mission and is based off of the friendly relations between the two countries. I have not heard any negative responses from the Aleppo Armenians. Armenia has always made an effort to help Armenians and to promote peace.”
Reqgarding evaluations that the humanitarian group was formed to please Russia, Zarmik Boghikian disagreed. “I wouldn’t say that, since Armenia and Syria are friendly nations. It wasn’t just once that Syria helped us. This is Armenia’s support for the Syrian people. This is a continuation of the humanitarian help Armenia provided to Syria during the war.”
