“We don’t have such plans. We need to clarify what the minister was asked and what response he gave,” Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said in parliament while presenting the government’s plan, commenting on Minister of Defense Davit Tonoyan’s statement that Armenia would participate in Syrian military operations if necessary.
A deputy asked the Prime Minister about what necessity Tonoyan was referring to. Pashinyan, however, did not clarify it, and said that he needed to understand the entire context of the Minister of Defense’s response. Then, Nikol Pashinyan emphasized that the group of Armenian experts that was sent to Syria has a humanitarian mission, not a military one.
