Artsvik Minasyan: ‘New government plan has issues with constitutionality and rights’

February 13,2019 17:38

Forces outside of the parliament are ignored within the new government plan. Committee organizer of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Artsvik Minasyan spoke to reporters about this during a press conference. Despite this, the Dashnaks have created 11 committees comprised of 150 experts in order to keep an eye on the activities of the authorities. Some of the members of these committees include state political figures and experts in different fields.

According to Artsvik Minasyan, they will strongly critique the government, but they do not have ill intentions in doing so.

Minasyan believes that this government has problems regarding its constitutionality and rights on all levels. “They either don’t know the law or the constitution, or they do not appropriately present a legal analysis. This is an approach that we frequently see. The most painful thing is that they simply ignore constitutional norms.”

According to Artsvik Minasyan, the law on the government structure and activities states that the Prime Minister needs to present his candidates for governmental positions to the President within 5 days of his appointment. However, not every position has been filled.
