The rights of children and young people in special schools were discussed during a workshop in the Armenian capital of Yerevan on 12 February.
Gregory Tsouris, Deputy Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation to Armenia, briefed the audience on the EU priorities and commitments in the field of children’s rights and gave an overview of the concrete support the EU is providing to Armenia to achieve them.
Tsouris stressed that the principle of the ‘best interest’ of the child cuts through all of the EU priorities and programmes.
The two-day workshop was organised by the EU-funded project “A Public Glimpse into a Closed World”. The recommendations from the workshop will be communicated to the government and shared with the general public.
