‘He is forcing me to defend Serzh Sargsyan’: former National Security Service deputy regarding Pashinyan

February 18,2019 21:52

“It doesn’t matter that he’s a millionaire. His father works in the type of place where it is possible to have those millions. But 23 years old?” former deputy of the National Security Service and writer Gurgen Yeghiazaryan told reporters regarding the fact that the State Revenue Committee deputy Rafik Mashadyan’s 23-year-old son, Harutyun Mashadyan, got a job at the Prosecutor General’s office.

“Even if someone graduated from university at 18 years old with good grades, could they have gotten such a position only five years later? His relative has been lying for years (Yeghiazaryan is referring to Nikol Pashinyan. According to several sources, Nikol Pashinyan’s wife and Mashadyan are related). Once upon a time, he could only speak about Serzh Sargsyan’s relatives. Now he is forcing me to defend Serzh Sargsyan. I must make the comparison and say that Sargsyan did not take the kinds of villainous steps that Pashinyan does,” Yeghiazaryan said.

According to him, “This intelligent youth (the new Prosecutor General) will be deciding on the fate of other people, regardless of how old he is. [Pashinyan] does not have any experience; he ruined everything in a matter of ten months. Proud citizens will soon grow tired of all of this. Why are we tying people’s fate to the decisions of a 23-year-old?”
