Prosperous Armenia leader Gagik Tsarukyan was invited to the Russian investment conference in Sochi by President of Russia Vladimir Putin. Gagik Tsarukyan suggested that a free economic belt be established in Armenia for EAEU member states. Head of the Regional and Eurasian Integration Affairs parliamentary committee Mikayel Melkumyan spoke about this.
“On one hand, our country’s legislation regarding production belts needs to correspond to the legislation of other countries. We are prepared in this instance. Second, there doesn’t need to be a law in Armenia about those free economic belts because the government is given the authority to declare certain places a free economic belt,” Mikayel Melkumyan said.
He added that by saying “free economic belt,” this means that there won’t be customs borders, countries won’t have to pay taxes, quick registration for property, and insurance.
