On 18 February, the Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Piotr Świtalski, joined a group of children with disabilities to ski at the country’s Tsakhadzor ski resort.
10 children from the Shirak marz arrived in Tsakhadzor yesterday for a two-day skiing getaway, during which they were trained in alpine skiing with the help of adaptive equipment and accompanied by volunteer instructors.
The event was organised as part of the EU’s pilot initiative on promoting disability accessible winter sports and outdoor recreation for children with disabilities living in different marzes in Armenia. The project is implemented by the Armenian camp NGO and Armenian Ski Federation.
