The fourth Start-up Boost Weekend took place in the Armenian capital of Yerevan last weekend, bringing together around 130 students from universities.
After 54 hours of learning, practicing, sharing and presenting to experienced mentors and successful entrepreneurs, the jury selected three winning teams of university students.
First place was awarded to a music composer that helps young vloggers and gamers to solve the common problem of finding new music by generating personalised soundtracks based on their daily activities.
A completely anonymous purchase and delivery system for sensitive products, using pre-existing frameworks and smart contracts, took second place.
Third place was given to a virtual reality application that helps people to overcome their phobias through gaming and therapy.
Start-up Boost Weekend is an event for the start-up community, aimed at boosting entrepreneurship skills among university students. It was organised within the EU4Business initiative and supported by the EU-SMEDA project for the fourth time.
Since 2017, the EU-funded ‘Support to SME Development in Armenia’ (EU-SMEDA) project has been supporting Armenian start-ups with two types of grant – Innovation Matching Grants and Science and Technology Entrepreneurship grants.
