March 01,2019 21:09

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Speaker of the National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan, Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan, and other high-ranking officials paid respects to the victims of the events of March 1, 2008 at the Myasnikyan statue, where citizens are paying respects to the ten citizens who were killed. Nikol Pashinyan bowed and, without making a speech, left with the people he was accompanied by. However, the march of citizens towards the Myasnikyan statue continued.

The bloody events of March 1, 2008 mainly took place near the Myasnikyan statue, which is perhaps the reason why people pay their respects to the victims at this location every year. The monument dedicated to the memory of the victims of March 1st has not been placed in Yerevan yet.

It is noteworthy to mention that hundreds of police officers joined the citizens in their march. The police also laid flowers down in memory of the victims of March 1st.
