On 13 March, a public discussion on the state of prison reform in Armenia was organised in the country’s capital of Yerevan.
Gonzalo Serrano, Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation to Armenia, was present at the event, where he acknowledged the Armenian government’s ambition to pursue the reform of the penitentiary system and reconfirmed the EU’s willingness to discuss and support these reform initiatives in the context of the implementation of the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement.
Serrano also praised the efficient civil society inputs to the upcoming EU-Armenia Human Rights Dialogue, due to take place in April this year.
