“We are prepared to return people who got lost in exchange for us receiving our citizens who got lost, but we will not return saboteurs who killed people,” Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told reporters during a meeting. He was referring to the notorious two saboteurs who entered Karvachar, Artsakh.
Recently, Armenian citizen Karen Ghazaryan, who has mental health problems and who crossed the border between Azerbaijan and Armenia, was sentenced to twenty years in prison in Azerbaijan.
Pashinyan emphasized that, until the incident in Karvachar, it was acceptable for the sides to return lost citizens within one week. “Now, we have someone here who had gotten lost from Azerbaijan.”
The Minister of Justice of Armenia had announced earlier that the ministry is doing everything it can so that Karen Ghazaryan can return to Armenia.
