On March 18, representatives from the Armenian National Committee of America – Western Region Board and Staff held a productive meeting with Lt. Governor of California Eleni Kounalakis at the State Capitol.
“Given her Hellenic heritage, the Lt. Governor has an extensive knowledge and understanding of Armenian history and the public policy priorities of our community,” said ANCA-WR Board Chair Nora Hovsepian, Esq. “We welcomed the opportunity to meet with her and look forward to engaging even deeper with her office to accomplish initiatives of mutual interest.”
The meeting addressed a number of issues of concern to the Armenian-American community and more specifically, issues of importance to the ANCA. Kounalakis expressed her solidarity to the Armenian Cause and the importance of a strong partnership with the California Armenian community. Representatives of the Armenian Youth Federation – Western United States also participated in the meeting.
The Armenian National Committee of America-Western Region is the largest and most influential Armenian American grassroots advocacy organization in the Western United States. Working in coordination with a network of offices, chapters, and supporters throughout the Western United States and affiliated organizations around the country, the ANCA-WR advances the concerns of the Armenian American community on a broad range of issues.
