Pashinyan regarding agenda for meeting with Aliyev

March 27,2019 20:40

During discussions about the report on the government plan in parliament, Prosperous Armenia deputy Naira Zohrabyan asked Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan about the agenda for his meeting in Vienna with the Azeri president, and whether the agenda is simply going to be a bilateral discussion about the Madrid Principles. Pashinyan had not yet been informed that the meeting had been confirmed. He said, “There have been preliminary arrangements which we have agreed to. However, since the OSCE Minsk Group has not yet announced the place and time of the meeting, I will not make any announcements.”

Regarding the agenda, Pashinyan said that he had told Aliyev during previous meetings that the meetings that take place in the initial stages should not have a strict agenda. They should simply exchange their ideas on several issues. “The statement I made during the Security Councils’ joint press conference in Stepanakert is the agenda we will use to make negotiations.”

Naira Zohrabyan asked if that means that they will exchange ideas regarding including Artsakh in the negotiations process, which Pashinyan confirmed, adding that that is not subject to change.
