“What compromises? It is far too early to speak about compromise. When has Azerbaijan come to negotiate that you are now asking about compromises?” the administrative head of Civil Contract, freedom fighter, and My Step faction deputy Sasun Mikayelyan told reporters.
“Compromises cannot take place. Such discussions have not taken place between Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Artsakh,” Sasun Mikayelyan added, referring to possible compromises that could be made within the framework of the Artsakh conflict resolution process.
He believes that only members of the opposition are talking about compromises in order to gain favor. “They say that we’re going to give up land… No, just the opposite. Azerbaijan is afraid of our unity. Let them know that if we are attacked, we’ll march right to Baku.”
Regarding possible tensions at the border on the eve of the Pashinyan-Aliyev meeting, Sasun Mikayelyan noted, “I’m not saying that there’s going to be a war, but we need to be ready at all costs. If the enemy has modern weapons, then they have to fire those weapons at some point. Otherwise, why would they spend billions to buy those weapons?”
