Head of the National Security Service Artur Vanetsyan was asked about fake profiles and whether or not new users have become targets of the NSS. “The NSS does not usually announce its activities in advance. If new people come about, we will announce it.”
Vanetsyan said that people have the right to remain anonymous, and no one has the right to violate that. “It’s different when a person uses another individual’s information to spread news that is in violation of the law.”
Regarding the observation that the owner of the page “Dukhov Hayastan” did not use another person’s information, Vanetsyan said, “But ‘Dukhov Hayastan’ has an admin.”
Reporters asked if the authorities are spending millions to keep fake pages. Artur Vanetsyan replied, “No, absolutely not.”
