“We need to work towards solving the problem peacefully. I hope that we are all honest with ourselves because if we all lie to one another at the negotiations table, then nothing will work out,” Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told reporters during a briefing regarding the Artsakh conflict negotiations process.
In response to the observation that Armenia endlessly promotes peace, whereas Azerbaijan demands its “occupied” territories, Pashinyan noted, “We are not promoting anything endlessly, and we aren’t promoting anything at all. We aren’t even promoting peace; we are simply making suggestions to create some sort of platform for resolutions. There is the military path and the peaceful path. We said that no one can scare us with war. We also aren’t trying to make anyone afraid. Let’s decide whether or not we want to resolve this conflict on a platform of peace.”
Nikol Pashinyan is convinced that any rational person would want to work towards resolving the conflict peacefully. “Otherwise, what is the purpose of the negotiations process?”
