On 17 April, Armenia’s State Musical Comedy Theatre, named after Hakob Paronyan, staged the play “The Comedy of Pyramus and Thisbe”, which is based on Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”.
This was a joint project funded by the EU Delegation to Armenia and implemented by the Armenian Theatre Workers’ Union.
The play had previously been performed in the Armenian cities of Vanadzor, Gyumri, Gavar and Goris, before finally being performed at the State Musical Comedy Theatre in Yerevan.
The Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Piotr Świtalski, surprised the audience by joining the actors on stage.
