Several members of the French Grand Orient Masonic temple were in Yerevan recently, led by Grand Orient council member and director of European issues Eghve Zakarian.
Aravot Daily asked Zakarian, who placed a wreath of flowers at Tsitsernakaberd if he thinks that it’s time for Turkey to review its approach in order for historical justice to be served. Does the Grand Orient ask its Turkish members to do this?
“I don’t understand why Turkey, despite wanting to seem like a world power, continues to distort history. Unfortunately, there are historical events which can never be erased. It is time for Turkey to face its history. The French Grand Orient Masonic temple is carrying out activities in that direction since one of the key tenets of masonry is justice. The fact that our delegation is present here proves this. Masonry is universal, and we, of course, have relations with our Turkish brothers,” Eghve Zakarian said.
