The Armenian Assembly of America condemns the anti-Semitic hate crime committed over the past weekend at the Chabad of Poway near San Diego, California. The Armenian Assembly extends its condolences to the Chabad of Poway and affected families of this crime, which tragically took the life of congregant and community leader Lori Kaye, and wounded the Chabad’s founding director Rabbi Yisroel Goldstein, 8-year-old Noya Dahan, and Dahan’s uncle Almog Peretz, visiting from Israel.
The Armenian Assembly also recalls the recent and similar crimes at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, and the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina.
The Armenian Assembly stands in solidarity with the leaders and congregation of the Chabad of Poway, and joins fellow organizations and all people of goodwill working to combat anti-Semitism, bigotry, and violence.
